ERGO Travel Insurance Services Ltd (ETI) operates an insurance office, websites, and mobile apps and distributes insurance products via authorised third-party agents acting on our behalf. This Privacy Statement pertains to the personal information we collect or generate about our customers in our office, on our websites, or via mobile apps or through authorised third-partyagents. This Privacy Statement describes the types of information collected, and how your information is used, shared and protected. It also explains the choices you have relating to your information and how you can contact us.

When you get a quotation from us, our insurance applications use your personal data in order to evaluate risk and calculate the premium we will charge you. We will use relevant information such as where you are travelling, the length of your trip, any hazardous activities you will undertake, your age, any pre-existing medical conditions you tell us about and other information to automatically calculate your premium.
We do NOT use personal data such as gender, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation or anything else that does not affect your risk. Using relevant personal information to make a decision electronically is known legally as “profiling” and it is only by the use of this method that we are able to make the process efficient and economical and so keep the premium we charge you down.
We therefore need to ask you for your consent to profiling before we can provide you with a quotation. You have the right NOT to consent to profiling but unfortunately, we will be unable to provide you with a quotation in such circumstances.
We do not sell, otherwise disclose, or share information we collect and hold about you, except as described in this Privacy Statement.
We share personal information with third parties who perform services on our behalf. For example, we may use third parties to host our websites or mobile apps, manage and support insurance applications and store data, send e-mails, print or send mailings, administer the sale of our insurance, provide medical screening, provide pre-trip advice, conduct customer research, authorize and process your payments, manage and analyse data, handle claims and provide assistance services. These third parties are not authorised by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements.
